So the brothers and newly pinning associate members of the Delta Chi Umass Colony had a pretty busy weekend. On Friday all the brothers worked security for the Black Student Union event, Evolution of Black Music. The event was a big hit with over 200 in attendance and saw spectacular performances by the UMass Breakdance Team, Cecily Graham, and BSU founder David Moore.
On Saturday the Alumni Board of Trustees met at the Campus Center, which was followed by a second pinning which saw 6 more very worthy men become Associate members. This most recent pinning brings the total number of Associate Members to 11, with one more left to be pinned. Later that night the brothers performed community service by providing security for Iota Gamma Upsilon’s fundraiser/party. It was a blast, all the brothers and the Associate Members who were there worked hard, and had a great time both during and after.
Also, congratulations to Reginald Bailey and Jing Xu for being elected to the Executive Board as Recruitment Chair and Secretary respectively.
After successfully initiating 17 great men into enternal brotherhood during the Fall semester, the Founding Class of Delta Chi here at UMass-Amherst is looking forward to a superb Spring semester.
